hands, feet and non-talking heads

logline

After a violent on-field fight goes viral and earns her a restraining order, 17-year-old football star Hannah is forced off the team—and into a fractured world where her future hangs on the silent ways she moves, reacts, and rebuilds herself. Told through hands, feet, and non-talking heads, the film follows Hannah’s chaotic day as she dodges judgment, reconnects with friends, crashes a salsa night, and meets a coach who might change her life forever.

About the Film

Hands, Feet and Non-Talking Heads is an experimental, movement-driven short that reimagines a coming-of-age story through the body rather than through dialogue. Structured in three chapters—Hands, Feet, and Non-Talking Heads—the film observes how people communicate, collide, love, fight, and change long before any words are spoken.

PART 1 — HANDS
An unscripted collage of everyday exchanges—romantic gestures, ASL, sports rituals, money passed between palms—culminating in a violent locker-room fight between two girls in football uniforms.

PART 2 — FEET
We follow Hannah, a fierce 17-year-old football player standing on the sidelines after being banned from the field. Throughout one chaotic day, she navigates town like an obstacle course, bumping into friends, dodging gossip about the viral fight, enduring a tense run-in with her mother, and reluctantly attending the town’s salsa night—where an unexpected connection leads her to Coach Rick, a mentor who may give her a second chance. All communication in this chapter happens solely through feet, movement, and spatial tension.

PART 3 — NON-TALKING HEADS
The film ends with a mosaic of silent faces—from football practice to unscripted environments—set to music. These non-talking heads reveal stories and emotions that live beneath the surface, widening the film’s scope into a meditation on identity, perception, and the moments we keep to ourselves.

Hands, Feet and Non-Talking Heads is intimate, kinetic, and deeply human—an exploration of girlhood, aggression, cultural tension, social pressure, and the ways a single moment can reshape a young woman’s future.
