Selective short-film support

Short Film
Development
& Preproduction
Planning.

Le Vide Films helps narrative short filmmakers strengthen, organize, and prepare their projects before active physical production begins. Preproduction planning does not include cast or crew recruitment, physical-production management, or fundraising.

Develop the film. Prepare the project. Hand it off clearly.

The work is designed to move a contained narrative short from a promising idea or draft toward an organized, realistic plan for active preproduction. Le Vide guides the process without taking over the director's vision or automatically rewriting the screenplay.

What Le Vide may do.

01

Project evaluation

Review the screenplay and supporting materials, clarify goals and expectations, confirm rights control, assess fit, and recommend proceeding, revising, reducing scope, or pausing.

02

Creative development

Provide structured story notes, track an agreed revision process, reconcile the creative vision with likely resources, and identify when the screenplay is ready to advance.

03

Readiness planning

Create a development action plan, milestones, decision deadlines, a preliminary timeline, project risks, filmmaker responsibilities, and conditions for active preproduction.

04

Production assessment

Conduct a basic breakdown, identify cast, locations and specialty needs, flag difficult scenes and clearance concerns, suggest scope reductions, and estimate an approximate budget range.

05

Project packaging

Develop or refine the logline, synopsis, statements, biographies, audience and comparable-film sections, lookbook, pitch deck, top sheet, timeline, financing summary, and work-sample presentation.

06

Financing research

Research grants, programs, and crowdfunding possibilities; organize requirements and deadlines; separate confirmed from prospective funds; and create a preliminary financing roadmap.

Useful tools—with responsibility kept clear.

Crowdfunding-page construction

When included in the agreement, Le Vide may help structure a GoFundMe page, refine its copy, organize assets and FAQs, and prepare a basic launch checklist.

The filmmaker approves every public claim, publishes and promotes the campaign, contacts donors, manages the funds, posts updates, and fulfills supporter promises.

Crew-needs & referral guidance

Le Vide may identify needed departments, prioritize roles, explain responsibilities, suggest leads from a reference directory, and prepare questions and a clean handoff document.

Suggested names are leads for the filmmaker to independently contact and evaluate—not guaranteed, formally vetted, or attached Le Vide personnel.

Planning is not physical production.

The Early Preproduction Handoff Package.

  1. 01

Creative record. Current screenplay and version record, development memo, and outstanding creative decisions.

  2. 02

Production outlook. Basic needs breakdown, preliminary budget range or top sheet, timeline, risks, and missing materials.

  3. 03

Financing status. Research list, funding-readiness status, and optional approved crowdfunding materials.

  4. 04

Team handoff. Crew-department recommendations, potential leads, filmmaker responsibility list, and prioritized next steps.

The next team takes it from there.

After delivery, the project needs qualified physical-production leadership for detailed budgeting and scheduling, active cast and crew recruitment, locations, insurance, contracts, releases, payroll, accounting, and the shoot. Le Vide does not automatically continue into those stages; any expanded role requires a separate written agreement.

Two relationships. No blurred expectations.

Limited paid engagement

Short Film Development & Preproduction Planning is a defined service with stated deliverables and an end date. It does not create an ongoing producer attachment or promise that Le Vide will produce the film.

Formal producer attachment

If Le Vide later agrees to an ongoing relationship, Development Producer is the clearest title. Attachment begins only after both sides sign a time-limited agreement defining work, authority, credit, compensation, expenses, and exit rights. It is never a rented logo or passive endorsement.
